TDS Issue EPC Guidance for Buy-to-Let Landlords
Under current Government proposals, the legislation surrounding minimum EPC ratings is set to change in 2025.
Currently, the minimum rating for any tenanted property is an “E”. However, this is set to increase to a 'C'. We are already having conversations with several buy-to-let investors who are taking this into consideration when arranging viewings for potential investment properties.
To help with this transition, the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) has issued guidance, tips, and general information on how to prepare for this change. I thought this would be helpful for those of you with current portfolio properties and also those of you searching for new investments.
